Dr. Fay Boozman is remembered by those who knew him as a man of bold faith, humble love and endless optimism. His sudden death as a result of a farming accident in 2005 stunned us, and broke our hearts. He is deeply missed. He was, as one of his many admirers has said, “one of the good guys.” We couldn’t agree more.
Fay was a friend and supporter of the work of the Arkansas Physicians Resource Council, and we want to honor his life in a manner fitting to the life-legacy he left us with–a legacy of living out the Christian faith in his life, both personal and professional. We have decided the best way to honor him, and the Lord whom he served, is to encourage others to do the same, and acknowledge them for doing so.
It is with that goal in mind, and with the blessing of Fay’s wife, Vickey, and their family, that we created the Fay Boozman Award, given annually to an Arkansas physician who lives out his or her faith in family life, practice and community. Our desire, along with Dr. Boozman’s family, is that this yearly award will bring honor and glory not to Fay, but to the Lord for whom he lived.
The Arkansas Physicians Resource Council is now accepting nominations for the Seventh Annual Fay Boozman Award.
We will accept nominations through July 21, 2017. A review team will process each nomination and a selection will be made after thorough review of all nominees, the timing of which will be somewhat dependent upon the number of nominations received. We will make the announcement as soon as a recipient is chosen. He or she will receive the award at a dinner sponsored by the Arkansas Physicians Resource Council in the fall. A location will be announced at a later date.
